The Artist Behind Random Ink

Every design on this store starts with a needle and a story.

Who Is Robert?

Robert is a tattoo artist from Puerto Rico. He started doing tattoos the way most artists do — by hand, by feel, learning the craft through thousands of hours of practice. His work reflects the world he grew up in: bold lines, cultural imagery, dark humor, and a style that sits somewhere between street art and traditional flash.

A few years ago, Robert was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. MS took away his ability to hold a needle. It took away his ability to walk. What it didn't take was his art.

Why We Started This Store

Random Ink exists because Robert's designs are too good to stay on paper. His artwork — built from years of tattooing real people — now lives on clothing. Every shirt, hoodie, and crewneck is printed on demand from his original designs. No mass production. No clip art. No trend-chasing. Just Robert's art on your body, in a different form.

When you buy from Random Ink, you're buying a piece of original artwork from a tattoo artist. The designs you see here came from real flash sheets, real clients, real time spent with a machine in hand.

The Art Speaks for Itself

Robert's designs pull from tattoo flash tradition — skulls, bold characters, dark humor, Puerto Rican pride — but they carry his own visual voice. You'll recognize his work because it doesn't look like everything else. It looks like it came from someone who spent years actually doing tattoos, not designing for a merch brand.

That's exactly what it is.
